Neighbor to Neighbor Fall Kick-Off
SEPTEMBER 11 | 8AM
Neighbor to Neighbor Fall Kick Off! You are invited to come learn about our Neighbor to Neighbor Connection. We have linked arms with the local neighborhood association and other neighbors to do good in S.E. Portland. Through New Hope we look to serve both those in the church and with our neighbors, those in our broader community. On September 11 you will hear from volunteers, care-receivers, and leaders in the City of Portland who rely on Neighbor to Neighbor. This is a great way to connect with other people from our congregation and neighborhood.
Neighbor to Neighbor is a beautiful way to serve and love our neighbors! Saturday, September 11, 8-9:30am at New Hope Church. Free breakfast provided to take with you! Please register in advance.
What it’s about
Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) matches those in need in our community with a team (3-5 people) who can help with those needs. Here’s how it works. Often a widow, an elderly couple or a single adult finds it difficult to keep their home up because of a disability, loss of a spouse or age. We assign a Neighbor to Neighbor team to help that individual or couple on a continuing basis. Teams invest four hours once a month. Their focus is on meeting the needs when they can, advocating and helping to find resources for the neighbor when the need is beyond their ability.
One of our greatest joys is the long term connections that are made between those serving and those served — sharing stories and creating lasting bonds, sharing lives.
